Exordium was vinified in small 2 ton stainless steel fermenters at a cool temperature with daily punch downs and aerations. The long cool fermentation in conjunction with all gravity flow production, allowed us to coax exceptional layers of flavor. Exordium spent over 24 months in 100% small French oak barrels, 50% of which were new.  The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered. 

Exordium displays a clear bright crimson color.  Aromas of crushed blue berries,  red currant, pencil lead and mocha unfold in the glass. Big forward berry fruit flavors up front, followed by classic Wahluke Slope dust are backed by flavors of graphite, sage, red currant, black raspberry and five spice.  On the mid palate Exordium coates the mouth with a velvet texture and refined tannin, finishing with persistent length.
